Designed for the puppy 8 weeks to 6 months of age During the pups developmental stage (8 weeks to 6 months) it is VERY important to expose them to water, bumpers, birds, gunfire, people, different locations and other dogs. Socialization plays a key role in their training. While attending the Head Start program your pup will be introduced to bird boy thrown marks (using birds and bumpers), water and cover, light obedience, lead work and will be well socialized. This program has a profound impact that will stay with your pup the rest of their life. Young pups are like sponges at this crucial age...they "soak up" everything they learn and are eager to learn more. It stimulates their brain and encourages them to learn more. It cannot be stressed enough the importance of working your retriever at this stage of their life - whether you personally do the training or have a professional do the training. If you decide to teach your pup at this stage and need assistance/guidance, please do not hesitate to call us. We will gladly help you in any way we can. |
